As managing director of Acceleration Media’s Johannesburg office, Tony Sousa drives the company’s growth in South Africa’s economic heartland. Sousa has extensive experience in South Africa’s technology industry and a deep passion for online and interactive technologies. He joined Acceleration Media from MTN South Africa, where he held the position of senior manager: portal and web until July 2010.
Previous to that, Sousa ran a consulting firm called Converged Communication Consultants, which provided advisory services to companies rolling out digital and mobile strategies. Sousa’s earlier career included a range of management and sales positions at organisations such as Triple Play Communication Networx and GloCell.
Sousa’s skills and experience encompass sales, business development and general management. He holds Diplomas in Public Relations & Communication, Management Development & Marketing and Sales Management.
